Qualification Summary
GS-09: In addition to the Basic Education Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a Professional Electrical Engineer performing the following duties: 1) Resolving routine electrical engineering problems in support of facility maintenance/repair projects; 2) Preparing electrical engineering analysis, calculations, designs, and plans using AutoCAD, electrical design/analysis software, specifications, and cost estimates; 3) Preparing preliminary design studies and outlining the design scope of electrical engineering projects; 4) Utilizing and applying knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, theories, principles, practices, and techniques including knowledge of related architectural and engineering fields to plan, design, construct and maintain engineering projects; 5) Providing proposed designs, analysis, recommendations and/or results of studies through written or oral presentations. Or Successful completion of a 5-year program of study of at least 160 semester hours leading to a bachelor’s degree in engineering and have one year of appropriate professional experience that required and was characterized by 1) professional knowledge of engineering, 2) professional ability to apply such knowledge to engineering problems, and 3) positive and continuing development of professional knowledge and ability. Or Successful completion of a bachelor’s degree with superior academic achievement and one year of professional engineering experience that required and was characterized by 1) professional knowledge of engineering, 2) professional ability to apply such knowledge to engineering problems, and 3) positive and continuing development of professional knowledge and ability. Or Successful completion of an engineering bachelor’s degree and have one year of appropriate experience as a technician equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or higher. Or Successful completion of a 5-year program of study of at least 160 semester hours leading to a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
