Qualification Summary
To qualify for this position the applicant must have successfully completed a full course of study in a school of law accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA) and have a professional law degree (J.D.), a bar certification, and be a current member in good standing of the bar of a state, territory of the United States, or the District of Columbia. Applicants must have five (5) or more years of .post J.D. specialized legal experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the mid NY-04 pay band (at, or equivalent to, the GS-14 level) in the Federal service. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and is related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience include demonstrating the following: Significant experience in providing advice and counsel regarding federal procurement and contract matters. Litigating Federal procurement and contracting matters, and providing expert advice to AmeriCorps and senior officials on such matters. Experience in negotiating and providing legal review and guidance on Interagency Agreements (IAAs), memoranda of understanding (MOUs), and other agency legal agreements. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps VISTA) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Such experience must be clearly documented in the applicant’s resume.
