Qualification Summary
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 12/06/2022. The closing date may be impacted if there is an applicant count cut off established. The Office of Personnel Management’s (OPM’s) group qualification standards covering white collar occupations in the Federal competitive service can be found: Here GS-07: Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-06) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in federal or other service that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA’s) to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: experience with the use of computer software applications and electronic spreadsheets; and experience reviewing benefits or financial documents submitted by others for completeness, accuracy, and validity. There is no education substitution for the specialized experience at the grade level of GS-07. GS-08: Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-07) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in federal or other service that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA’s) to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: applying policies, procedures, and law to ensure submitted requests for benefits or entitlements comply with the regulatory and/or organizational requirements. There is no education substitution for the specialized experience at the grade level of GS-08. GS-09: Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-08) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in federal or other service that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA’s) to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: reviewing financial, benefit, or legal documents and statements to identify any misrepresentation, fraud or illegal activities with financial or benefit accounts; and (2) providing clients with information pertaining to processes and procedures to apply for benefits such as Federal, State, Social Security, Retirement, Military, Medical or Welfare. There is no education substitution for the specialized experience at the grade level of GS-09. Note: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience you document, to include volunteer experience.
