Conditions of Employment Con’d The physical requirements of this position as determined by the manager are: Heavy physical effort is used by the operator in constantly reaching, bending, turning, and moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to handle different sets of controls to operate the equipment and attachments. Considerable strain is caused by the constant vibration of the equipment and the jerking and jolting from operating over rough surfaces. Work becomes increasingly strenuous because of the larger type of equipment handled and the requirement for more frequent adjustments under adverse operating conditions. May be required to serve on Architectural & Engineering selection boards or construction contract/privatization source selection boards. May act as project liaison with the Army Corps of Engineers or other design agencies as required. . Comply with all Health and Safety guidelines and requirements for Federal employment. Safeguards classified or sensitive budget-related information and/or files. Must implement all cyber-security regulations, requirements, and procedures. Employee will be required to support Base Readiness and Emergency Operations Exercises and Real World Threats and Events. Employee will be required to support Special Events (i.e. Annual Air Show, Base Exercises) not necessarily performing in their primary skill code. 15. The work may require the employee to carry a cell phone. Complete and maintain currency of all required ancillary training assigned. In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C. QUALIFICATION: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-5000. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. The screen out element for this position is: Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision JOB ELEMENTS: Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: – Technical Practices: Theoretical, precise, artistic – Use of Measuring Instruments – Ability to Interpret Instructions, specifications; other than blueprints – Ability to Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment – Knowledge of Materials – Dexterity and Safety To receive consideration for vacancies, applicants must submit complete applications prior to the established cut-off date(s).
