Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer advising on welding operations and techniques used during phased shipbuilding evolutions. Examples of qualifying experience may include: Applying welding engineering concepts within specialized fields of material/metallurgical science, material fabrication (casting), metal joining processes and non-destructive testing (NDT); providing technical advice with engineering design pertaining to contractor’s qualification, fabrication, welding and brazing processes, thermal spray, foundry operations, material properties and testing in structural, piping, machinery and electrical areas; or evaluating unusual engineering design problems and ship material issues related to engineering fields.
