To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Dietition and Nutritionist Series 0630 (opm.gov) In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications for GS-09: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level. Specialized experience is defined as experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Examples include: Develop nutritional care plans; provide consulting services to patients; assess nutritional needs related to several types of health issues; interview techniques and patient care management OR 2 years of progressively higher lever graduate education leading to a master’s degree or master’s or equivalent graduate degree Minimum Qualifications for GS-11: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level. Specialized experience is defined as experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Examples include: Develop nutritional plans and consult with patients of all age groups, community groups and other health professionals; Formulates policies and procedures for the effective and efficient management and operation of the dietary department; Counsels individuals and families in nutritional principles, dietary plans, food selection and economics, adapting plans to the individual’s lifestyle; Develops, administers, and assesses nutritional need for normal and therapeutic dietary programs for patients OR 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. AND SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR: Possess and maintain current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
