Today’s second post is Bollywood Geetmala – 1960. This post is the continuation of the article – Bollywood Geetmala – 1959. Today again, I would like to speak about the importance of what I call the olden goldies. Mom says that these songs used to be heard in her time everywhere during the wedding season and would be on the lips of every Bollywood fan. On the other hand, what we find is that these days, the people who have the power to popularize these songs are promoting the new songs, which are already being promoted by the producers of the songs. I am talking about the music shows on television. I would like to reiterate what I had said in one of my previous posts in this series – if proper attention is not given to these olden goldies, they will be eternally lost to our civilization.
