Qualification Summary
A J.D. degree from an accredited law school, be duly licensed and authorized to practice law as an attorney under the laws of any State, territory of the United States, or the District of Columbia, and be an active member of the bar in good standing. Specific grade level requirements: GS-15: At least five (5) years of post J.D. professional legal or other relevant experience addressing complex civil appellate law issues and/or complex civil litigation. GS-14: At least three (3) years of post J.D. professional legal or other relevant experience addressing complex civil appellate law issues and/or complex civil litigation. Preferred Qualifications In addition to the required qualifications listed above, the ideal candidates will: possess significant experience providing a full spectrum of legal services concerning complex civil appellate litigation; be able to utilize their extensive knowledge in that area to provide thoughtful, nuanced, comprehensive and sophisticated legal advice to Senior Leadership; possess the flexibility to move seamlessly among matters as circumstances dictate; possess the willingness, whenever called upon, to help other USTP attorneys with their projects to ensure the USTP’s work is expertly done and timely completed; and possess the ability and the expertise to assume front-line responsibility for handling and overseeing complex civil appeals.
