Qualification Summary
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements. Education: GS-11: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. GS-12: There is no substitution of education for specialized experience for this position. OR Experience: GS-11 and GS-12: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to perform successfully the duties of the position, and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled. Some examples of this qualifying experience are: GS-11: Experience preparing and reviewing budget reports, verifying information and making suggestions to conform to established guidelines and/or instructions.
Experience working with Federal budgeting and accounting methods, that include formulation, justification and presentation of a formal federal budget .
Experience that included extensive work with the budget process including formulation, presentation, and execution, compiling and preparing data for the Budget Calendar of Events to be used in training courses and for other information.
Experience composing graphic and statistical tables and charts using spreadsheets, graphics and presentation software.
Experience in collecting, reviewing, and analyzing a variety of program, fiscal, and economic data such as inmate population statistics, spending trends, etc, and reporting findings and making recommendations as needed. GS-12: Experience in analyzing highly technical and/or fiscal information, drawing conclusions and providing recommendations impacting the operations.
Experience in monitoring and evaluating national trends and issues related to community-based correctional activities at the federal, state, and local levels to determine the impact of their application to the Bureau of Prisons.
Experience in extracting and inputting complex data to produce analytical reports, spreadsheets, charts, and graphics for executive staff. OR Combination of Education and Experience: GS-11 Only:Have a combination of education and experience. This experience must have equipped you with the qualifications to perform the major duties of this position as described above. If applicable, credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience. To receive proper credit, you must show the actual time (such as the number of hours worked per week) spent in activities. **Your eligibility for consideration will be based on your responses to the questions in the application.**
