Top 20 Punjabi Songs – September 7, 2022

Today’s second post is Top 20 Punjabi Songs – September 7, 2022. This article is a listicle of the topmost 20 popular Punjabi songs liked by fans this week. There is one change in the song sequence this week. I have mentioned previous and current positions beside the songs in the list.

This week, G life… by Ravie Randhawa, has been thrown out of the list and Challa… by Nimrat Khaira has been introduced at the twentieth position.

Let’s consider Challa… by Nimrat Khaira for today. I am a little partial to female singers and artists, probably because I am a lady myself. The story goes thus – the main protagonist, a girl, is rejected by her boyfriend by returning the challa or finger ring that she had given to him as a gift. She is obviously hurt. Toward the end, she actually burns a rose flower in anger and sadness.

I liked this sad song that has been composed on a dance tune. Nimrat Khaira performs a dance that has been influenced by Kathak. The concept and visualization are different though I wouldn’t say that it is unique. Bollywood has used this theme of dancing to the tune of a sad song, before. At least one example comes to my mind, Gaa mere man gaa… from Lajwanti (1958).
