GS-12: In addition to the Basic Education Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Making recommendations to assist with the maintenance and operation of electrical utility systems to ensure the continued availability of reliable electrical service; 2) Conducting complex math to calculate unknown variables from predetermined or measured values in support of studies (i.e, Power System Analysis/Studies, load flow studies, short-circuit studies, arc hazard analysis and other such studies); 3) Analyzing technical data to perform proper coordination and interface with electrical utilities systems; and 4) Reviewing high voltage safety standards and procedures to develop and evaluate safety plans, safety policy, and safety methods. GS-11: In addition to the Basic Education Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing engineering support in order to operate, maintain and alter heavy industrial electrical utility systems; 2) Providing technical expertise and advisory authority for electrical utility issues; 3) Testing equipment in order to solve operating problems; and 4) Estimating time and cost of engineering projects.
Successful completion of 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree
