To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 07/27/2022. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Knowledge of policies, procedures, and requirements such credentialing, mandatory training, secure environment access, etc. Ability to prioritize work and organize workflow processes for assigned duties. Ability to locate and compile information for various reports, briefings, and conferences. Knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and required formats for correspondence, reports, and other memos and forms to insure correctness and compile with regulations. Skilled in the use of personal computers and the suite of Microsoft office products, as well as standard commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software. Knowledge of regulations for timekeeping and records filing retention and disposal. Interpersonal communication skills in handling callers and visitors. Knowledge to answer questions concerning administrative and clerical policies and procedures, and furnish guidance on procedures and policies to personnel, both inter-and intra-center. Knowledge to use sponsored purchase card for Research Service-related purchases which includes knowledge of socioeconomic goals in the acquisition process. Proficiency Requirement (This is an Office Automation (OA) position): In addition to meeting experience requirements, applicants for this position must be able to type 40 words per minute (WPM). Applicants may meet these requirements by passing the appropriate performance test, presenting a certificate of proficiency from a school or other organization authorized to issue such certificates by the Office of Personnel Management local office, or by self-certifying their proficiency. Performance test results and certificates of proficiency are acceptable for 3 years. Agencies may verify proficiency skills of self-certified applicants by administering the appropriate performance test. Education & Training Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Some work may require movement between offices, hospitals, warehouses, and similar areas for meetings and to conduct work. Work may also require walking/standing, in conjunctions with travel to and attendance at meetings and/or conferences away from the work site. Incumbent may carry and lift light items weighing less than 15 pounds.
