If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12level or higher in the Federal service.Specialized experience isdefined as demonstrated expertise in Federal acquisition and project management that included responsibility for managing projects and serving as a technical authority in the information technology, Federal Acquisition Regulations, and/or professional services areas. Such experience must include: identifying customer agency requirements; providing technical advice; acquisition planning, preparing statements of work; determining type of contracts to use; acquiring support services; and managing subsequent contracts/task orders.
