Basic Requirement for Civil Engineer 0810:https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/0800/civil-engineering-series-0810/ Basic Requirement for Geologist 1350:https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/1300/geology-series-1350/ In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1)Preparing documentation associated with Dam Safety Programs; 2)Serving as technical lead/steward for dam safety projects; 3)Providing engineering analysis to civil works projects; conduct independent technical reviews of the engineering portions of in-house designs and of Architecture & Engineering (AE) scopes of work; and/or 4)Serves on the District’s Dam Safety Project Development Team providing expert technical input and guidance on a variety of matters relating to the classification, maintenance and modernization of dam structures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone–no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Selective Placement Factor: (skill, knowledge, ability or other worker characteristic basic to and essential for satisfactory performance of the job). Selective Placement Factors are a prerequisite to appointment and represent minimum requirements for a position. Applicants who do not meet it are ineligible for further consideration.
