TheGS-12salary range starts at $79,363.00 per year.
If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR ENGINEERS:A Degree in professional engineering OR a combination of college-level education, training, and/or technical experience. For specifics on qualifying education and/or experience – use the following link:Basic Requirements for Engineer Positions.
In addition to the Basic Requirements listed above, in order to be qualified at the GS-12 grade level you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to theGS-11in the Federal service.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Specialized experienceis defined as experience under a senior level Fire Protection Engineer and providing input into fire protection and prevention systems designs to include: making calculations and developing analyses and specifications for fire protection and prevention engineering features; performing reviews of fire protection and prevention systems; writing and reviewing specifications for fire protection and prevention systems; and, interpreting and applying fire codes, standards, and directives to designs and reviews.
TheGS-13salary range starts at $94,373.00 per year.
If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.
In addition to the Basic Requirements listed above, in order to be qualified at the GS-13 grade level you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to theGS-12in the Federal service.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Specialized experienceis defined as knowledge of fire protection engineering concepts, principles & practices applicable to the full range of engineering duties concerned with providing safe environment for buildings and operations by resolving fire protection and life safety problems.
