Qualification Summary
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Ability to lift and move heavy objects, and perform heavycleaning safely. Ability to provide continual care and attention to avoid accidents and finish work properly. Ability to use power cleaning equipment and perform minor maintenance on equipment. Knowledge of how to properly use a variety of household and industrial cleaning agents, and industrial cleaning equipment. Must be able to recognize chemical cleaning compounds and solutions that may constitute hazardous materials and waste disposal.RESPONSIBILILTY: Independently completes steps or sequences of steps needed tocomplete assigned work. Follows specific oral or written instructions when changes or new assignments are made. Uses some judgment in deciding that the standards of sanitation, attractiveness, safety, and service are met. The supervisor periodically checks to see that work is done on time and according to instructions. Exercises care with tools and equipment used.PHYSICAL EFFORT: Exerts moderately heavy physical effort in controlling heavyequipment, carrying, setting, and working on ladders and scaffolds. Prolonged standing,stooping, bending, kneeling and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Lifts and carries supplies, materials and objects weighing up to 45 lbs independently and objects over 45 lbs with assistance.WORKING CONDITIONS: The majority of work is performed indoors in areas whichnormally have adequate heat, light, and ventilation. May be exposed to dirt, disagreeable odors and minor injuries due to cleaning and operating cleaning equipment. May be exposed to the possibility of slipping on wet floors.Must be able to obtain and maintain TIER-1 Child Care (CNACI) background checks which are required for positions that involve working with children under 18 years of age. Must pass a preemployment physical and annual physicals thereafter, provide evidence of immunization and be free from communicable disease. Must complete all DoD training requirements within the specified time including orientation, initial, and annual ongoing training requirements, and required certifications, if any. Must maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications. May be required to obtain a government driver’s license. Ability to communicate effectively in English,both orally and in writing, and possess strong interpersonal communication skills.
