Qualification Summary
Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Experience required: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: One year of specialized experience performing a wide variety of pelvic, abdominal, and other ultrasound examinations of human patients to aid in the diagnosis of disease or injury using real-time M-Mode/2 Dimensional sector scanning, pulse wave and continuous wave Doppler. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). OR Education Substitution for Specialized Experience for GS-09: Graduate education or an internship meets the specialized experience required only in those instances where it is directly related to the work of the position. Two full years of graduate education or a master’s degree meets the requirements for GS-9 (Note: You MUST submit transcripts for proof of education to verify your claim). OR Combination of Experience and Education Substitution for Specialized Experience: If applicable, insert appropriate combination statement. Only graduate education in excess of one year may be used to qualify when combining Specialized Experience and Education. Compute the percentage of these requirements and the total is at least 100%. (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond one year by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) Licensure/Certification: ARDMS or ARRT certification highly desired.
