AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of considerations for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code § 709), will be in the following manner and sequence, The FIRST area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians in the Springfield Air National Guard at Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport. The SECOND area of consideration will be all members of the Illinois Air National Guard. The THIRD area of consideration will be all those eligible for membership in the Illinois Air National Guard. Military Grades: Officer Only – Maximum Rank O5 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience, education, or training interpreting, explaining, and/or applying a variety of regulations and procedures; and experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-13 Level – MUST possess specialized experience for the GS-12 Level, at least 36 months of experience experience, education, or training routine and non-routine preflight, in-flight, post-flight, ground or command and control (C2) duties according to specific transportation functions; experience receiving, interpreting, extracting, and disseminating relevant data for mission planning or execution; experience coordinating and negotiating with organizations/personnel both orally and in writing to resolve differences/problems. SPECIALIZED SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE: In addition to the required Specialized Experience, MUST possess specialized supervisory experience which includes experience in managing the function of the work to be performed; Experience leading, directing and assigning work of personnel. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the lower grade level in the Federal service in order to be considered for this position. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Verbiage displayed on your resume or application must contain your own words.
