This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to perform the work of a Telecommunications Mechanic without more than normal supervision as demonstrated by 1) Installing and terminating copper and fiber optic cables of telecommunication systems; 2) Repairing worn wires, loose connections or broken components of telecommunications systems; 3) Using hand tools of the trade such as crimpers, punch-down tools, pipe benders, and wire wrap/unwrap tools.
