Meteorologist (series 1340) – https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/1300/meteorology-series-1340/ Specialized Experience: In addition to meeting the education requirements for one of the above series, you must also meet the following: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience, at the next lower grade (GS-14), which includes: Advisor on all methodology development, flood inundation modeling techniques, economic analysis, and human behavior research in the social science areas of risk communication, disaster response planning, and forensics. Lead in primary specialty related to water resources structures and senior reviewer of dam or levee products. Provide independent leadership in primary specialty, such as water resources structures or large complex water resources structures, at an international or national level. Develop risk assessment tools or techniques; facilitating risk assessments, writing risk assessment reports, or serving as a technical specialist as a part of a risk assessment for water resources structures. Communicate effectively when preparing technical reports and design memorandums, presenting technical papers for peer review, and conducting technical training for best practices in hydrologic engineering and risk assessment. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
