Qualification Summary
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: the evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and consultation for patients of all ages with psychological disorders through the application of psychological techniques for the purpose of understanding, preventing, and relieving psychologically-based distress or dysfunction and to promote subjective well-being and personal development. The selective placement factors are: Possession of Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. Possession of a permanent, full and unrestricted clinical psychologist license issued by a state, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. Completion of an Accredited Clinical Internship. This may be satisfied by one of the following: A) completion of 1-year American Psychological Association (APA) accredited clinical internship; B) completion of 1-year clinical internship NOT American Psychological Association (APA) accredited, but have completed an APA-accredited postdoctoral residency or fellowship or have attained board certification by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP); or C) have been a Clinical Psychologist commissioned/employed in the Navy prior to March 27, 2015 who has completed 1-year clinical internship training program NOT American Psychological Association (APA) accredited. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
