Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The time-in-grade requirement must be met within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
You qualify for this position at the GS-12 level (starting salary $87,198) if you possessthe following: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-11) in the Federal Service. This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes:
(1) Coordinating the management of a motor pool, AND
(2) Utilizing a fuel management system, AND
(3) Preparing fleet management reports, AND
(4) Assessing the life cycles of vehicles in a fleet program.
Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger (P) endorsement (operate truck tractors and semi-trailers, 44-passenger buses, and vehicles with air brake systems), issued in their state of residence.
In addition to the minimum qualifications described above (specialized experience statement), you must also meet the following:
Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study — accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position.
Experience: that demonstrates a knowledge of the transportation function(s) of the position to be filled.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
