Qualification Summary
To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate three (3) years of general experience, one (1) year of which was equivalent to at least a GS-4. General experience includes analyzing problems to identify significant factors, gathering pertinent data, and recognizing solutions; planning and organizing work, and communicating effectively orally and in writing.
OR
Completion of a four (4) year course of study leading to a bachelor’s degree, in any field.
OR
Equivalent combination of qualifying specialized experience and education. To qualify under this combination first divide your total months of qualifying experience by 36. Then divide your semester hours of education by 120. Finally, add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. Note: You must provide copies of your transcripts. GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate one (1) year of specialized experience. This could include: (1) Assisting in performing calibration, repairs, and preventive maintenance on complex medical and dental x-ray systems, diagnostic and other patient related systems. (2) Assisting in providing consultation to administrators, physicians, and other health care professionals. (3) Assisting in developing work requirements for patient-care system or comparable individual devices and assemblies.
OR
Completion of at least one (1) year (18 semester hours) of graduate level that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
OR
Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in a field that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position with one of the following: (1) I graduated with at least an overall GPA of 2.95, (2) I graduated with at least a 3.45 GPA in my major or during the last two years of college; (3) I graduated in the top third of my class; or (4) I have been a member of a national scholastic honor society recognized by the Association of College Honor Societies.
OR
Equivalent combination of qualifying specialized experience and graduate-level education. To qualify under this combination, first determine your total qualifying experience as a percentage of the specialized experience required; then determine your education as a percentage of the graduate education required; and then add the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. Note: You must provide copies of your transcripts. Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
