Qualification Summary
This position requires the employee to carry a firearm. Any person who has been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence cannot lawfully possess a firearm or ammunition. This position requires the employee to drive government vehicles. You must currently possess a valid U.S. Driver’s license, in good standing. Pathways Recent Graduate Eligibility – This announcement is being opened under the Pathways Program – Recent Graduates option. The Pathways Program offers opportunities to grow in your career through formal training and mentorship while earning valuable real-world experience. While the Pathways appointment is one year in length, individuals who successfully complete the program can be converted into either a time-limited or permanent appointment. To qualify under Recent Graduates, you must have completed, within the previous two years, a qualifying associate, bachelors, masters, professional, doctorate, vocational, or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution. If you are a veteran who could not apply within two years due to military service obligations, you can qualify for this program up to six years after the completion of your qualifying education. NOTE: Qualifying educational institution means–(1) A public high school whose curriculum has been approved by a State or local governing body, a private high school that provides secondary education as determined under State law, or a homeschool that is allowed to operate in a State; and(2) Any of the following educational institutions or curricula that have been accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Education:(i) A technical or vocational school;(ii) A 2-year or 4-year college or university;(iii) A graduate or professional school (e.g., law school, medical school); or(iv) A post-secondary home school curriculum order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume is the key means we have for evaluating your skills, knowledge, and abilities as they relate to this position. Therefore, we encourage you to be clear and specific when describing your experience. In addition to qualifying as a Pathways Recent Graduate, you must also meet one of the following requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have one of the the required specialized experience and or education requirements as described below: You must have at least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-5 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Examples of this experience include the following types of activities: recognizing and documenting fisheries or wildlife protection violations; collecting data related to fisheries or wildlife. You have successfully completed one (1) full year of graduate education at an accredited college or university in a field that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. Such fields may include law enforcement, criminal justice, security management, etc. You have successfully completed a bachelor’s degree AND meet one of the Superior Academic Achievement provisions: (1) Class Standing: rank in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as College of Liberal Arts or School of Business Administration, based on the completed courses; OR (2) Grade-Point Average: earn a grade-point average of (a) 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 (“B” or better) as recorded on the transcript, or as computed based on four years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final two years of the curriculum; or (b) 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 (“B ” or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field, or the required courses completed during the final two years of the curriculum. OR (3) Membership in a National Scholastic Honor Society. You have a combination of experience described in above and education described above.
