Qualifying experience for the MC-2d level includes ten years of relevant work experience in developing or transitioning countries, preferably in South Asia, and most specifically in Nepal either in the private sector or with an international financial institution, multilateral organization, international or local NGO, the USG or other internationally-focused entity. Examples of specialized experience includes: (1) experience leading, managing, analyzing, designing, or providing advisory services for large scale (over $10 million) international development programs in infrastructure development, particularly in the power and/or transport sectors; (2) experience as a team leader or project manager managing large-scale infrastructure and technical assistance programs in developing or emerging markets; (3) developing, negotiating and managing complex international projects and/or partnerships with multimillion dollar annual budgets in a multidisciplinary team environment; (4) experience starting up new programs or businesses in developing or emerging markets; and (5) management-level experience in the private sector, bilateral or multilateral development organizations, or an international NGO. NOTE: This experience MUST be well documented within your resume or application. HIGHLY DESIRED: Experience living and working in developing countries at a senior management level, particularly countries in South Asia. Demonstrated international experience in managing/supervising large, multi-sector investment programs (over $10 million), including preparation, supervision and execution of workplans and budgets. International experience developing and/or implementing projects in or related to the power and roads sectors. An advanced degree in finance, international development, education, business, engineering, law, or other relevant discipline. Familiarity with South Asian culture and/or the Nepali language. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
A successful candidate for the RCD position must be able to interact effectively with others, both within the assigned country and with MCC headquarters. In-country, continuous communication with the U.S. Embassy and the host-country government, including at very senior levels, is required. Electronic communication is the most common method of communications with MCC headquarters, and candidates should note their level of proficiency in specific software packages and internet uses. MCC expects both oral and written communications to be clear, accurate, and articulate. Applicants are strongly encouraged to ensure the work history portion thoroughly documents the duties, responsibilities, and accomplishments that are directly related to this position in order to verify specialized experience. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit may be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
