Qualification Summary
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 12/06/2021. 1. TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. There are no time in grade requirements for the GS-05 grade level. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. 2. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: In addition to Time-In-Grade requirements (if applicable), your application documents must demonstrate that you meet minimum qualifications for this position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. If qualifying based on education, submission of transcripts is required. GS-05 Grade Level Minimum Qualifications: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-04) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience is defined as experience assisting employees with standard pay adjustment documents, the processing of simple pay requests or maintaining data/information for reports. Education: Applicants may substitute education for one year of Specialized Experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have 4 years of education above high school. Coursework must have equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities described in the “How You Will Be Evaluated” section of the announcement. Combination of Experience and Education: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have a combination of specialized experience and education beyond the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) of post high school education. GS-06 Grade Level Minimum Qualifications: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-05) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience is defined as experience working with automated payroll systems, and experience providing technical advice regarding payroll, time and/or leave matters. Education: There is no education substation at this grade level. GS-07 Grade Level Minimum Qualifications: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-06) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience is defined as experience performing quality reviews of Federal pay actions and reports; and experience providing senior-level technical advice on various Federal Employment systems. Education: There is no education substation at this grade level. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary, although some physical effort may be required.
