Applicants must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience at the next lower level in the normal career progression of the position being filled, when compared to Federal experience, this experience must be equivalent to the next lower grade level of GS-14. Specialized experience is demonstrating a mastery knowledge of and skill in applying concepts, principles, and methodologies of project and system management for medical payment or equivalent systems in areas such as medical bill processing, workers’ compensation, and pharmacy management related to workers’ compensation.
Examples of specialized experience would include work experience inallof the following areas: Demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of federal or state workers compensation programs through skills, involvement,and experience in developing, writing, implementing, presenting, or educating stakeholders with respect to the business processes, concepts, standards, laws, policies, and controls that underlay workers compensation programs
Interpreting medical policy for a national or multi-state private, state or federal health care system, workers’ compensation program,and/or third-party payer or medical expense reimbursement organizations;
Creating and institutionalizing (through culture, automation, or workflow changes) procedures, systems, measures, and audit requirements related to policy; and
Leading or supporting the development, implementation, and/or operations of automated solutions for pharmacy or medical operations in support of eligibility determination, benefit applicability, and payment creation.
