Qualification Summary
Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the GG-12 or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector AND fluency in Persian and English that demonstrates ability to write, report, interview and announce broadcasts in both languages. Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. The following required specialized experience includes – Producing television and Internet ready video in a range of formats, including newscasts, newsfeeds, live interactive discussions, feature programs, journalist roundtables, video magazines, documentaries, and similar formats. Serving as acting supervisor, leader of ad-hoc teams, team leader, project leader, or other quasi-supervisory assignments that prepared applicant to be a supervisor. Having responsibility for set design, graphic look, music selection, and assembling live and pre-taped elements to develop programming that is attractive and competitive in the intended media market. Performing assignments that provide a good understanding of political, economic, cultural and historical conditions in Iran, including the subtle cultural differences between the U.S. and Iran, as well as providing an overall understanding of U.S. policies on global issues, such as foreign relations, economic security, environmental protection, and other concerns, to produce programming tailored to the target audience.
