Required Qualifications Master’s degree in Library or Information Science from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited program. A minimum of five years of experience that demonstrates an ability to: manage multiple and conflicting priorities; lead with vision; develop and execute strategic plans; communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing and explain to clarify information provided to both high-level officials and support staff; analyze and solve problems; integrate current and future technologies into a library program. At least three of the five years must have been in a position of progressively responsible supervisory experience plus other law library experience. Preferred Qualifications Solid leadership and interpersonal skills, confidence managing diverse staff in multiple locations across a wide geographic area, and the ability to manage remote staff efficiently (e.g., implement shared services within the library organization to reduce the need for redundant work in multiple locations); Strong staff management skills, with demonstrated experience: hiring new staff and succession planning; training, coaching, and mentoring staff to meet or exceed organizational goals, while holding staff accountable; and team building within a library program; Experience with strategic planning for a library program to meet the current and future needs of the larger organization, success in implementing strategic plan goals, and skills in process management and improvement; The ability to lead and implement a vision for a service-oriented library program undergoing significant change, including changes to services provided, space, collections, and migration of print collections to digital collections; Experience with the development of new services and realigning existing services provided by staff to meet the current and future needs of the organization; Experience with re-branding/marketing a program, such as developing a comprehensive marketing plan that includes coordinated outreach and promotion of librarian expertise and services to all judges, law clerks, staff attorneys, court unit executives, and other court unit staff; Demonstrated ability to present to senior leadership and to foster strong and effective inter-organizational relationships throughout all levels of an organization; and Experience preparing, justifying, and managing an annual budget and planning for changes in funding. A Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree is preferred.
