Your resume must demonstrate the following: FOR GS-11: I have at least one year of specialized Equipment Specialist (Avionics) experience equivalent to the GS-09 Grade Level or equivalent Pay Band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Examples of specialized experience include all or some of the following: (1) Providing technical advice and assistance on the acceptance, installation, operation, and/or maintenance of complex Consolidated Automated Support System (CASS) and sub-system discrepancies; (2) Analyzing and verifying logistics support policies, procedures, concepts, specifications, and requirements to ensure the most accurate and beneficial implementation; (3) Evaluating problems encountered with aviation systems to ensure corrective actions are performed; (4) Compiling and proposing recommendations for improvement of avionic systems, their support equipment, and associated logistics issues; and (5) Advising others on methods of resolving avionic troubleshooting problems, repairing difficult system malfunctions, research and analysis, and resolving equipment problems to ensure accuracy and functionality. FOR GS-09: I have at least one (1) year of specialized Equipment Specialist (Avionics) experience equivalent to the GS-07 Grade Level or equivalent Pay Band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying the full range of equipment standards, policies, and regulations. Examples of specialized experience include some of the following: (1) Planning and conducting reviews of maintenance discrepancies on Consolidated Automated Support System (CASS) and sub-systems; (2) Identifying if certain problems are serious enough to warrant corrective action; (3) Evaluating recommended solutions for economic feasibility and technical effectiveness; and (3) Studying information received on avionic maintenance problems through engineering change proposals, material deficiency packages, material deficiency reports, failure reports, correspondence, and suggestions.
