The incumbent should possess a broad knowledge and wide range of experience in a leadership field(s), to include such areas as leadership theory, human-domain (“soft skills”), communication, coaching and mentoring, emotional intelligence, organizational culture and climate, crisis leadership, management & business skills, critical/creative/strategic thinking, ethics, and complex problem solving (innovation). Experience in teaching at the graduate level, an established, outstanding professional reputation, and / or a record of publications within the field of expertise are positive factors for selection. Proven ability to plan, organize, and direct functions and mentor, motivate a small to medium sized organization. Ability to lead teams to design, develop, execute, and evaluate educational course materials. Knowledge of educational requirements, instructional methods, and evaluation methods and procedures. Ability to teach graduate-level seminars in leadership and military-related subjects (e.g., air-power, joint operations and planning, political science, national/international studies). Knowledge of research methods and ability to conduct and lead research efforts. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
