Qualification Summary
To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Grade GS-06 Examples of Specialized Experience: This experience is related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-05 level in the Federal service. Examples include: progressively responsible office clerical work such as answer telephones, file records, type and maintain documents, and assist clients. Also some basic bookkeeping and financial transactions. Also, some coursework or experience with word processing and/or spreadsheet computer programs, gather information to help the company such as search databases, retrieve files, or maintain records. Grade GS-07 Examples of Specialized Experience: This experience is related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-06 level in the Federal service. Examples include: In addition to examples at grade 06, act as main conduit between local office and office staff to advise others on proper methods regarding operational procedures for property, acquisitions and finance in support of department managers and staff; monitor and maintain office equipment and inventory supplies; order replacement supplies as needed; Create, update, and maintain records and databases; Update office policies and procedures; Schedule company calendar and updating as needed; Prepare reports on expenses, office budgets, and other expenditures; Prepare travel arrangements for office staff and managers; oversee and prepare expense reports and budgets; serve as conduit between local office and other outside offices. Grade GS-08 Examples of Specialized Experience:
This experience is related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal service. Examples include: In addition to examples at grade 07, carry out administrative tasks and serve as conduit between local office and upper echelons to advise others on administrative matters AND advise managers on operational procedures pertaining to human resources process in hiring. Proficiency Requirements (all grades)
In addition to meeting experience or education requirements, applicants for this position must show possession of Office Automation (OA) skills, This position requires the skill of a qualified typist. In addition to meeting experience or education requirements, you must be able to type at least 40 words per minute (based on a 5-minute sample with 3 or fewer errors). All candidates must self-certify their typing ability when completing the occupational questionnaire. Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
