Qualification Summary
All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. Applicants must show ability or potential ability in the job elements listed below: Ability to do the work of this position without more than normal supervision. (Applicants without this ability will be considered ineligible.) Ability to perform makeup, operation, and installation, electrical systems, circuits, equipment, and controls. Ability to plan, lay out, and complete the installation, modification, and repair of various systems, circuits, equipment, and controls. Ability to use various gauges, sizes, and types of wire, conduit, couplings, fittings, relays, boxes, circuit breakers, and electrical devices, electronic air cleaners, ultra violet light system for cooling tower water, sand filters. Ability to arrange and install wiring and devices to insure safe and proper operation. Ability to read, interpret, and apply building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings. Ability to calculate formulas for figuring such things as voltage and resistance. Skill in the use of a wide variety of tools and test equipment, e.g., test meters, voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, Dranetz 626 and 808 analyzers, microwave testers, tic tracers, etc. Sufficient skill in carpentry, plumbing, painting, locksmithing, welding and other trades to accomplish general building maintenance work such as boiler and cooling tower water quality testing with chemicals and test equipment. Note: Part-time work is prorated in crediting experience (e.g., if you work 20 hours per week for a 12-month period), you will be credited with 6 months of experience.
