BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: A degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level (starting salary ($103,690.00) if you possess one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level performing the following duties: (1) Responsible for all aspects of cost estimating and analysis programs. (2) serve as expert in cost analysis of systems and advisor to program office. (3) formulating policies to improve cost estimation/analysis within Division. You qualify for the GS-14 grade level (starting salary $122,530) if you possess one year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level performing the following duties: .(1) Conducting statistical/cost analysis for organizational programs. (2) Providing technical guidance to management on the analysis of cost related issues and risk. (3) Developing qualitative and quantitative analyses to support program operations and budgeting plans. (4) Reviewing the life cycle cost model to determine improvements to statistical/cost analysis for program management. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Current or Former Political Appointees: The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
