Qualification Summary
All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-09/15/2021-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of specialized experience that you will be granted. An award SF-50 will not be acceptable documentation for which to consider your amount of qualifying experience. For all other applicants who are not current federal employees, your resume must state either “full-time” (or “40 hours a week”) or “part-time” with the number of hours worked per week to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience. For periods of time that reflect military service, the DD-214 or Statement of Service is sufficient to meet the full and/or part-time hours requirement as the service dates will be reflected. EXPERIENCE: Must possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-04 grade level which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience includes: research activity or control program work; work in a field where weather, environment, and activity records were kept in accordance with established protocols; nursery work that required the growing and maintenance of plants in a controlled environment; knowledge of routine natural resource management practices, methods, and procedures, and basic knowledge of related regulations; knowledge of data collection techniques, including installation, operation, and maintenance of testing and sampling equipment; knowledge of database management, word processing, and specialized software programs essential to resource management activities; Knowledge of established practices, procedures, and techniques of one or more of the biological sciences

EDUCATION: Successful completion of a full four (4) year course (120 semester hour or 180 quarter hours) leading to a bachelor’s degree with major study or 24 semester hours of course work in a related field of scientific or technical study, such as in biology, chemistry, statistics, entomology, animal husbandry, botany, physics, agriculture, or mathematics (At least 6 semester hours of courses must be directly related to the position to be filled).. You must include transcripts.

Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. The total must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. You must include transcripts. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
