Chandramukhi (2005) – A Complete Analysis

  1. The story involves Senthil (Prabhu) and Ganga (Jyotika) shifting to a haunted mansion and all the dark forces being unleashed. Psychiatrist Saravanan (Rajnikanth), who is Senthil’s friend, saves the day. For details, watch the movie.
  2. The movie got into several controversies for bringing the subject of psychiatry and ghosts, together. The director, P Vasu, admitted that he did not know anything about psychiatry. But, the movie was a success at the box office.
  3. Vadivelu, playing Murugeshan, has taken comedy to a different level. His antics are worth his weight in gold. No wonder, I am a great fan of his. 🙂
  4. Rajnikanth is the heartthrob of several Tamilians and obviously, he rules the roost in the movie.
  5. Finally, the cake goes to Jyotika, who despite the presence of Rajnikanth, has performed with élan.
  6. Music by Vidyasagar and lyrics by several lyricists still resides in the hearts of fans and I am definitely one of them.
  7. The visualization of the song, Raa raa…, is ethereal.
