In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. To Qualify At The GS-09: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service which includes: Performing all functions associated with Quality Assurance program functions to include: 1. Performing inspections, reviews and audits of techniques and methods of storage, overhaul, and testing of various systems; 2. Analyzing inspection results to determine root causes of deficiencies and recommending corrective actions; 3. Inspecting and evaluating condition of systems or equipment to ensure adherence to standards and regulations.; 4. Insuring contracting officer is compliant with technical requirements of awarded contracts.; 5. Developing procedures or processes to improve quality for storage, movement, shipment or testing of various systems or types of equipment.; 6. Providing technical assistance to contracting office.
OR Possess a master’s degree or 2 full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or other fields related to the position. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts for verification).
OR Possess a combination of the specialized experience and education where the total is at least 100% (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate level education beyond two full years by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify (NOTE: YOU MUST SUBMIT COPIES OF YOUR TRANSCRIPTS). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
