Qualification Summary
OPEN UNTIL FILLED: THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS OPEN UNTIL THE VACANCY IS FILLED. IT MAY BE EXTENDED OR CLOSED PRIOR TO THE CURRENT CLOSING DATE. FIRST CUT OFF DATE FOR APPLICATIONS IS 10 BUSINESS DAYS FROM THE OPEN DATE AND EVERY 10 BUSINESS DAYS THEREAFTER. To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
Education: Bachelor’s or graduate/higher level degree: major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: GS-12: One (1) year of Specialized Experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level; Examples include: Applying appropriate environmental health codes, standards and best practices when identifying risk factors for necessary mitigation; applying interpersonal skills, writing and verbal communication to teach and gain compliance with environmental health conditions; Effectively evaluating and implementing environmental health control measures; planning and administering environmental health work through a risk based process; some experience with community injury prevention or occupational safety and health or institutional environmental health or supervising. SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR: Selective factors are knowledge, skills, abilities, or special qualifications that are in addition to the minimum requirements in a qualification standard, but are determined to be essential to perform the duties and responsibilities of a particular position.
