Qualification Summary
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience: For the GS-12: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as ALL of the following: Reviewing Federal records pursuant to FOIA laws and regulations. Examples of this could include, but is not limited to timely redacting and annotating records, preparing timely responses, and ensuring confidentiality; AND Supporting general office operations. Examples of this could include, but is not limited to managing a database, compiling reports, drafting correspondence, directing communications, and serving as a public liaison; AND Applying redactions to records. Examples of this would include using Adobe, FOIA Express or similar redaction tool to excise information from records and annotate the appropriate exemptions code near the redacted material. Specialized experience for the GS-11: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: Redacting Federal agency records; AND Communicating with the public and using time management to process responses to FOIA requests. OR
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a field related to the position; OR
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR
LL.M., if related to the position OR
You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 36 semester hours (54 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education. Specialized experience for the GS-09: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:- Reviewing Federal agency records and updating databases; AND Using time management to process responses to FOIA requests. OR
Master’s or equivalent graduate degree; OR
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR
LL.B. or J.D., if related OR
You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Specialized experience for the GS-07: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service which has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: Reviewing FOIA requests; AND Responding to public inquiries. ???????OR
1 full year of graduate level education; OR
Superior Academic Achievement OR
You may qualify by a combination of experience and education.
Time in Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-12, you must have been at the GS-11 level for 52 weeks. For the GS-11, you must have been at the GS-09 level for 52 weeks. For the GS-09, you must have been at the GS-07 level for 52 weeks. For the GS-07, you must have been at the GS-05 level for 52 weeks.
