Qualification Summary
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position listed below, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector and a diploma, associate degree, bachelor’s degree, or master’s degree from a professional nursing program. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Using knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and procedures in infection control and epidemiology to identify the presence of unusual pathogens to recommend appropriate procedures for the command hospital and outlying clinics; 2) Establishing, coordinating and implementing a hospital-wide infection prevention and control program; 3) Facilitating and directing a surveillance program for the detection of nosocomial infections in accordance with the CDC National Nosocomial Infections Surveillance System (NNIS); and 4) Developing and teaching all levels of infection control practices to command personnel.
