The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:1. Demonstrated knowledge of physical protection systems, processes, techniques, equipment, handheld weapons, explosive devices, and procedures at an NRC-licensed facility.2. Demonstrated ability to perform field and program assessments of plant security systems/processes to evaluate their effectiveness and to identify potential vulnerabilities in protecting against the design basis threat at an NRC-licensed facility.3.Demonstrated experience in evaluating facility physical security plans, contingency response plans, security force training plans; fitness-for-duty programs and processes; and access authorization programs at an NRC-licensed facility.4.Demonstrated experience evaluating potential threat information and implementing or recommending appropriate response actions at an NRC-licensed facility. Demonstrated knowledge of and coordination with other federal, state, and local response organizations, and members of the public.
5.Demonstrated ability to communicate well, both orally and in writing.In addition to the basic requirements, to qualify for this position you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is defined as:Specialized experience includes experience that demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the theories, principles and practices in physical security systems, process equipment and procedures at nuclear power plants and/or fuel facilities with particular emphasis in the areas of vulnerability assessment and knowledge of response force capabilities; detection and assessment hardware; defensive strategies; and, response tactics.
