Qualification Summary
Position may be filled as a temporary promotion or temporary reassignment NTE 1 year by a current permanent Army employee. Temporary promotions or reassignments may be extended up to a maximum of five years, and may be made permanent without further competition. Position may be filled as a temporary appointment NTE 1 year, if candidate is not a current permanent Army employee. Temporary appointments may be extended up to a maximum of three years. Current Army Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) EmployeeCurrent Department of Army Civilian EmployeesPriority Placement Program, DoD Military Spouse Preference (MSP) Eligible Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an ELECTRONIC INDUSTRIAL CONTROLS MECHANIC without more than normal supervision. You have the ability in providing expertise on industrial electro-mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, vacuum systems, components, and programmable logic controllers (PLC); reviewing performance on awarded contracts; maintaining computer software systems (such as Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)) and network technologies; and calibrating industrial electronic control systems. – Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (Screen-out Element)Ability To Use Hand and Power Tools – ElectronicsIngenuity (Ability To Suggest and Apply New Methods)Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc.Theory of ElectronicsTrouble shooting (Electronic Equipment)Use of Test Equipment: Electronics Physical Effort: Work assignments require light-to-moderate physical effort. There is frequent lifting, carrying, and handling of items weighing 10 to 40 pounds and occasionally over 40 pounds. Work is performed in a sitting position for extended periods; frequent standing, walking, bending and reaching is required. Working Conditions: Work is usually done inside in well-lighted, heated, and ventilated areas. Sometimes works outside, and may be required to work in adverse conditions in emergency situations. Incumbent is exposed to burns, electrical shock, and the possibility of cuts, bruises, and burns.
