Qualification Summary
Applicants must meet the qualification requirements contained in the OPM Standards. For this position, they are listed below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: GS-0301-09/11/12 School Safety Program Specialist. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. GS-09: Applicant must one (1) year of specialized experience that equipped me with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. This experience is related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal service that includes: Working with schools in their Safe School planning, implementation and management; development process of a consistent safe school policy; participates in the planning process; proving advice, technical assistance on assessments, review and evaluations, plans and procedures, reporting and continual improvement; development and implementation of crisis response/emergency management plan, addressing school violence, bomb threats, fire, natural disasters, suicide threats.
OR
Possess a master’s or equivalent graduate degree, OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, OR LL.B. or J.D., if related.
OR
Combinations of successfully completed graduate level education beyond the first year of progressive graduate study and specialized experience that together meets 100% of the qualification requirements. GS-11: Applicant must have one (1) year of specialized experience that equipped me with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. This experience is related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal service that includes: serves as an advisor with schools in safe school planning, implementation and management; insure student a safe and secure learning environment; provide school self evaluation, development and improvements; partnership with neighboring agencies, law enforcement, emergency medical, fire and social service agencies; provide regularly scheduled drills and activities including mock evacuations of facilities and buses.

Possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, OR an LL.M., if related;
OR
Combinations of successfully completed graduate level education beyond the first year of progressive graduate study and specialized experience that together meets 100% of the qualification requirements. GS-12: Applicant must have one (1) year of specialized experience that equipped me with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. This experience is related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service that includes: providing and implementing administrative or program principles, concepts and practices as well as regulations, standards practices and procedures of applicable to a School Safety Program, including crisis/emergency planning and development, prevention/risk management, student transportation safety, positive behavior support programs, training and school/community wellness initiatives, qualitative and quantitative techniques sufficient to analyze and measure the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of a program; conducting studies, analyzing findings and making recommendations, plan and carry out a multiple projects with diverse goals, planning and organization in order to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision and support multiple teams, organizational, communication, interpersonal and teambuilding skills, interface with staff of all levels. Only experience and education obtained by the closing date of this announcement will be considered. Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year (52 weeks) of service at the next lower grade level.
