Qualification Summary
Who May Apply: US Citizens Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) INDUSTRIAL EQUIPMENT MECHANIC~ without more than normal supervision. Installing, maintaining, and/or repairing general industrial plant machinery and equipment. Interpreting detailed specifications in detecting malfunctions and determining corrective measures.- Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal SupervisionAbility to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading)Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and EquipmentKnowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc.Knowledge of MaterialsTechnical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)Trouble Shooting Physical Effort: Frequently handles objects weighing up to 45 pounds, and with help, occasionally carries objects weighing over 45 pounds for considerable distances. Work requires frequent bending, stooping, standing, pushing, pulling, crawling, and/or climbing for sustained periods of time. Working Conditions: Work is performed inside and outside. Incumbent is subject to weather conditions; exposure to shop and considerable equipment noise; smashed fingers, bruises, and strained muscles while positioning equipment and components; burns from hot chips and welding and electrical equipment; and falls from elevated ramps, ladders, and inclined structures.
