Movie – Aap Aaye Bahar Aayi (1971)
The song, Taare tare neel gaganpe, was featured in the Emkay Productions’ socio-family-drama Aap Aaye Bahar Aayi (1971) produced and directed by Mohan Kumar. The movie starred Rajendra Kumar, Sadhana, Prem Chopra, Rajinder Nath, etc.
Rohit (Rajendra Kumar) and Whiskey (Rajinder Nath) are traveling to Rohit’s estate when their vehicle sputters and stops. Neena (Sadhana) comes along and the men ask her for help, which she declines. After a few days, Neena is in need of similar help and Rohit comes along that way. When Neena requests him to help her, he sings a song.
Post another encounter between them at her home, they fall in love with each other, not before Neena plays a prank on Rohit. Unaware of these goings-on, Rohit’s wayward friend Kumar (Prem Chopra) sends a marriage proposal to Neena. Neena rejects the proposal by tearing his photograph, without even a look at it. Kumar swears revenge. On the engagement day, Kumar is shocked to know that it was Neena, who rejected him and now she is getting married to Rohit.
Rohit invites Kumar for a night out in the forest’s dak bungalow with Whiskey and Neena. That night during the stay, Kumar rapes Neena in the absence of Rohit at the bungalow. After the misdeed is done, Neena reveals to Rohit about it and he chases Kumar. Post the ensuing fight between the friends, Rohit blinds Kumar in one eye and Kumar swears revenge. After this incident, Neena shuns Rohit and she loses her father when he comes to know about her predicament.
Neena leaves the town in a train after losing her father and Rohit follows her. She swoons in the train and he takes her to a doctor to check what had happened to her. It turns out that she is pregnant with Kumar’s child. When she gets to know about it, she attempts suicide and Rohit saves her. He also convinces her to get married to him.
Kumar receives the news that Neena is pregnant with his child and Rohit had married her. He meets Rohit to ask forgiveness. But, Rohit is still angry with his former friend. Though Kumar leaves, he has actually recorded his conversation with Rohit to use it later. Neena gives birth to a son and some years later they sing this song on the child, Deepak’s (Master Bobby) birthday.
