Qualification Summary
To qualify, there is no specific length of training or experience required; however, your resume must demonstrate enough experience to show your ability to perform the duties of a Utility Systems Repair Operator Supervisor without more than normal supervision. Examples of such experience include: (1) operating and maintaining water plants and water treatment plant equipment; (2) performing inspection checks, providing maintenance and repairing or replacing water treatment or distribution equipment; (3) operating and maintaining wastewater systems and treatment equipment; (4) planning water and wastewater systems maintenance and rehabilitation.
Selective Placement Factor: A current Arizona Grade 3 or higher Wastewater Treatment certification or equivalent certification or from another sate/jurisdiction with reciprocity from Arizona Department of Environmental Quality. Candidates who do not meet this requirement by close of this announcement will receive no further consideration for this position

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Part-time or Unpaid Experience: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held. Physical Effort: The work requires considerable walking, standing on concrete floors, and climbing stairways and ladders. Light to moderate physical effort is necessary to turn valves and controls. The incumbent frequently lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted, and occasionally lifts and carries heavier items with assistance of other employees or with the help of lifting devices. Work Environment: Work is performed indoors and outdoors in temperatures ranging from -20 to 120 degrees and in all types of weather conditions. The supervisor may he exposed to chemicals, sewage, disease organisms, mechanical and electrical hazards, and wet and slippery surfaces.
