Qualification Summary
Who May Apply:.U.S. Citizens and Non-Citizens with Allegiance to the United States and Non-Citizens with documented permissions to legally work in the United States. This is a full-time term appointment in the excepted service starting on or about August 2, 2021, and not to exceed August 12, 2022. Term appointments may be extended beyond the initial term. As a term employee you will be eligible for medical insurance, life insurance, retirement, dental and vision. You will be eligible to earn annual leave and sick leave. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must (a) hold a bachelor’s degree or higher that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, OR (b) possess a combination of education and experience — courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above. SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR/KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Applicants will be evaluated on the following: 1) Academic accomplishment (an earned doctorate, or advanced standing in a doctorate program, in English, Rhetoric and Composition, or a related field is preferred); 2) Ability to teach courses in college composition; 3) Ability to support a Writing Center; 4) Ability to conduct a broad range of office and administrative work in a timely, professional manner.
