Must have minimum of 3 years’ experience as Aquatics Manager. Must be Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certified. Must be Lifeguard Instructor Trainer (LGIT) Certified. Must have knowledge gained through relevant work experience which enables the incumbent to competently and independently carry out day to day operations as described above. Must possess skill in the effective management of the fitness and physical resources of programs. Must be knowledgeable of physical fitness, have sound leadership, have effective written and verbal communication skills and interview skills. Considerable tact and diplomacy as well as fitness are required when interacting with staff members and customers. Must have experience in managing aquatics facilities, or have one or more professional certifications in the aquatics field such as American Red Cross/YMCA/USA Swimming Lifeguard, Water Safety Instructor, or Certified Pool Operator. Within 90 days of appointment must possess and maintain a current CPR and AED Certification along with Navy Basic Fitness Certification. Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation.Background Investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.
