Qualification Summary
Prepares reports and budgets for the personal and professional development programs. Conducts presentations and individual/group advisement sessions using a variety of techniques and methods. May work fluctuating work schedule to complete work assignments outside of the typical work week and work hours. Travels to complete work assignments.Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Acknowledges customers, smiles and makes eye contact. Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems. Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher level supervisor or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Uses required safety equipment, and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Performs other related duties as required.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree in a related field is highly preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Counseling, Rehabilitation, Personal Financial Management or related field is required. Must have a minimum of three years experience in, or related to, career planning, employment services, personal financial management, and direct advisement of students,. Experience in education, career and personal financial management development strategies for diverse higher education populations. Demonstrated success in cultivating collaborative relationships with clients, unit leadership, and professional colleagues. Understanding and use of current education practices in career advisement. Ability to organize activities and coordinate groups of people. Ability to relate to a diverse student population. Ability to communicate effectively (writing, listening, speaking). Ability to work independently and follow-through on assigned tasks. Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests, learning and motivation. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships using tact, diplomacy, and overall professionalism. Must be able to operate a personal computer, printer, etc., and have current knowledge in various office computer programs and software applications. Ability to collect, evaluate, and disseminate information; assess and measure organizations’ and other serviced populations’ trends, concerns, and needs; assign in identifying and prioritizing goals. .
