Qualification Summary
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Technical and Medical Support Positions, to include the Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR) for the GS-0895, INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN Series. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NJ-02, equivalent to the next to lower grade GS-08 or equivalent in the Federal Service. Specialized experience must include experience that involved work measurement, simplification, and standardization Methods analysis and improvement. Analysis and design of work center facilities and equipment. Planning and control of industrial operations. OR EDUCATION: I have successfully completed a master degree or two years of graduate level education that included at least 24 semester hours in any combination of courses in engineering, technology, industrial management, industrial relations, public or business administration, mathematics, statistics, physical science, psychology, or vocational education. NOTE: You must submit copies of your transcripts OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of college transcripts. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of a variety of industrial engineering technician techniques and processes to include work measurement, methods improvement, engineered time standards development, Methods Time Measurement, Defense Work Methods and Standard (DWM&S),layout design and cost analysis. Knowledge of safety, security, and environmental regulations, practices, and procedures. Knowledge of EEO, labor management, personnel management policies, practices and procedures including the ability to adjust work operations to meet emergencies; the ability analyze plans and adjust program or production requirements within available resources and with minimum sacrifice of quantity or quality; and the ability to establish objectives or performance goals and assess progress toward their achievement. Knowledge and experience with Aircraft Programs, depot maintenance operations including production planning, scheduling, and material storage/distribution, as well as, production materials and methods, concepts, practices, and techniques critical to repair, manufacturing, and modifications of major weapons systems and components, and the knowledge of mechanics and construction, maintenance and repair facility work processes and methods. Ability to plan, organizes, and directs the functions and mentor, motivate, and apprise the staff of an organization. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
